A you stated, health care providers must not blindly accept any research and utilize them in the patient care. We really nned to take the statistics part of it seriously to isentify weather or not testing have been done, evidence available , how long the researchers took to come out with the analysis or data before such claims are implemented in the health care delivery system. As you stated, we must identify the null hypothesis which attempts to show that no variation exists between variables or that a single variable is no different than its mean is a good way to find authencity of the research. The empirical rule can be broken down into three parts: 68% of data falls within the first standard deviation from the mean. 95% fall within two standard deviations. 99.7% fall within three standard deviations.
