For the remaining questions in this section, you will make connections between “A Story” (Question 1 from 2011 exam) and “Myth of Music” (Question 1 from 2017). You can revisit “Myth of Music” in the previous lesson if you need a refresher of the poem. 3. Who is the speaker in each poem? How does the speaker affect the point of view and the ultimate meaning of each poem? The speaker in the poem “Myth of Music” is a girl who felt she was connected with her family through music. This affected the POV because she was the one whose life, she was talking about so we could get more specific details and it felt more personal. Whereas in the poem “a story” the speaker is third person and we are just looking in at their lives so it doesn’t feel as personal. [Show More]
