The current research examines the association between binge-watching and emotional disruptions, whether positive or negative. Binge-watching is among the impacts of modern technology, which is intensely affecting people's psychology. The study involved an analysis of daily and weekly use of phone applications and the association with emotional as well as psychological states. To perform the research, phone settings were deployed in recording the frequency of beige watching while a watching engagement and form was filled in to establish the change in emotions. Outcomes from the research confirmed the theory that beige watching had more negative emotional impacts such as dependency and loss of control than positive outcomes. The suggestions indicate that binge-watching does not cause psychosocial results. Various methods to curb the effects of binge-watching are also discussed in the study paper. Binge-watching is termed as the practice of viewing certain content for a long time, especially on the television or mobile devices. The act has become popular in the globalized world due to technological advancements. Various platforms have been associated with the rise in binge-watching, for instance, Netflix (Granow et al., 2018). People binge-watch for different reasons, including entertainment, multitasking, and hedonism. While there are varying reasons for this practice, the impacts of binge-watching require consideration. Previous researchers have indicated that binge-watching results in more negative emotional consequences than positive. Some of the highlighted positive outcomes include enthusiasm, gratification, pleasure, and satisfaction (Anozie, 2020). Similarly, scholars have identified some negative repercussions, such as loss of control, guilt, and dependency (Panda et al., 2017). However, the act of binge-watching continuous to diversify despite the negative emotions associated with it (Anozie, 2020). Modern technology is the most significant factor causing this practice, which has adverse psychological impacts. Since beige-watching is on the rise, the study explores the psychological states associated with the activity. The relationship between frequency of beige watching and the positive or negative emotions is established in consideration of previous researches. Specifically, it is hypothesized that there is a comprehensive connection between beige-watching rate and psychological effects, with more negative effects being yield.
