Grand Rounds: Parkinson’s Disease Michelle Ware Chamberlain University NR508: Advanced Pharmacology February 2019 Case Study • Mr. Carlton, a 56 year old male, came into the office today wi... th his wife. He reports that he has a resting tremor in his right hand and some stiffness in the right arm for over a year. He thought the tremors were related to nerves and would eventually resolve on its’ own. He doesn’t like going to the doctor and his wife finally convinced him to make an appointment. On inspection, I noticed a pill-rolling movement in his right hand and at rest that resolves with active movement of the hand. On further inspection, relative slowness of fine rapid movements of the right hand are noted along with rigidity to the right arm. He also stated that he has fallen multiple times the past three months. On exam with gait, a slight shuffling gait is noted with some imbalance issues.
