HINTS FOR THE HESI EXIT The HESI Exit is a comprehensive exam that assesses the student’s readiness to be successful on the NCLEX RN exam. The HESI Exit is given during Capstone (450) during week... s 1, 7, and 14. Similar to State Boards in organization and content, the student is required to score 900 or better on the exam. Being unsuccessful means that the student will need to remediate with Dr. Metcalfe and mutually develop an action plan of study and retest. HESI questions are for the most part high level questions (takes two or more pieces of information to answer the question). Of 160 questions on the exit, 142 are high level. They are in the following format: Multiple choice, fill-in-the-blanks, multiple multiples (check all that apply) and identification of an area on the illustration or graphic (X marks the spot). There are math questions on each test—usually six but there can be more. These are highly weighted as you must have the ability to calculate formulas and read the questions carefully. Although you should have been preparing for the exit exam. throughout the curriculum there are some books that are essential resources. [Show More]
