*NURSING > GUIDELINES > NR 601 Week 5: Weekly Clinical Goal (All)
My weekly schedule for clinicals is Friday and Sunday 8am to 8pm. My clinical goal for the week is to be able to get learn more about the different antibiotics that are commonly prescribed in the cli... nical setting as well as laboratory tests that will be ordered during annual wellness screenings. My clinical goals for this week are the same as previous weeks which are to see a minimum of 15 patients each day with 15% of the patients being of women’s health and 15% being pediatrics. I also hope to specifically see a pediatric patient for a well child exam for newborn, infant, toddler or school aged as well as a women’s health patient for a pelvic exam and breast exam which I have still been unable to see the past four weeks of clinical. I also would like to be able to specifically help with an outpatient procedure such as a toenail removal or skin biopsy since I haven’t had that opportunity yet this session. As I had mentioned last week, my clinical competency checklist seems to have more empty blank/boxes of incomplete tasks than it does on completed tasks; therefore, for week five I hope to see at least two new things at my practicum site specifically observe and assist in a pelvic exam and breast exam on a women’s health patient which I did not see in my first four weeks of clinical. I do anticipate barriers at my particular clinical site since the clinic I will be at for this clinical rotation transitioning to a new charting system from my previous clinical site.
