I am writing to you in my role as a psychotherapist, who works with the client John, a 34-year-old client receiving psychological counseling. With respect to the present missive, I trust that you will... take the information presented with utmost confidence for the sake of the privacy of the individual, as the content herein constitutes substantive judgments pursuant to my solemn legal responsibility as a professional counsellor and psychotherapist. Legitimate recipients of this letter consist solely of parties with a patent responsibility of care for this person. I inform you herewith of my professional declaration that John has been actively engaged in counselling at my practice since the 23rd of June 2017. He has completed a total of 5 sessions to date, and in the following, I outline a summary of my observations and recommendations for your consideration. John displays a behavioural disorder as a result of ergophobia (work related fear). The client reported that he has been a security guard in a hospital where he developed the psychological condition from a work linked accident. John had been assigned to tasks of minding two children diagnosed with behavioural disorders. Eventually, he developed emotional disturbance after he was affected by the children`s behaviour. John reported his dissatisfaction to the hospital`s management which paid less attention in considering his work concerns. He reported about his referral to occupational health where tests were conducted, without secondary follow-ups to establish a full account of his condition. John`s wife reported that his husband started panicking, mostly because they were trying to conceive a child. They had to stop the specialized treatment and General Practice tests were conducted to ascertain that he was not infested with any condition. The client was expected to perform at work, despite the distressing circumstances around his workspace that made his condition worse. John later changed his work, but he experiences ripple effects from his initial job placement. He has an immense fear of contracting the children`s disease, he panics when alone when talking to unfamiliar people, when approaching his workplace and when dealing with his managers. Initially, John was a very outgoing person who fitted perfectly in his security job. [Show More]
