NR 603 Week 5 APEA Predictor Assignment - Part Two Preview of Starting Page….. Diagnosis: Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA). M.B. presents with classic signs and symptoms consistent with IDA.... Treatment: The following diagnostic testing will also be ordered: CBC w/diff, CMP, ferritin level, TIBC, RDW, and blood smear (Cascio & DeLoughery, 2017). A pelvic or transvaginal ultrasound will also be ordered to look for causes of the excessive uterine bleeding. I will start M.B. on ferrous sulfate: 75-100 mg of elemental iron PO BID (Jimenez et al., 2015). Preview of Last Page….. Treatment for NOE is long-term antimicrobial therapy. In addition, if the patient is diabetic, including the patient last night, her PCP will need to continue to strictly monitor her blood glucose levels, perform repeat local debridement of any necrotic tissue and advise her to participate in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (Kaya et al., 2018) after she has been discharged from the hospital. Antibiotic therapy can begin with 750mg ciprofloxacin PO BID, or 400 mg IV BID.
