You are to engage in the i-Human p... latform and work your way through a total of the recommended and required simulations: Recommended: o Marvin Webster – 1 learning mode, 1 test mode o Harvey Hoya – 1 learning mode, 1 test mode o Angela Cortez – 1 learning mode, 1 test mode Feel free to engage in these simulations – they are all available to you to explore and refine your skills. Required: o Bill Buxton – 1 learning mode, 1 test mode o Ariela Hernandez – Test mode only The First Case The first case (Marvin Webster) is engaged in learning mode. It provides you with an opportunity to explore the case environment, learn how to ask questions, discover answers, and receive guidance from the ‘in case mentor assistance’ prompts! Click on as many of the links as you wish to discover how to access information and gain comfort in knowing what is expected of you. And you will be able to find out whether you were correct or incorrect and learn from your choices! This learning experience provides you with an opportunity to establish a step-by-step process for your history-taking and assessment, as well as learning how to prioritize your problem list. Go ahead and access resources to assist you as you learn to master your assessment process and prepare for the high stakes assessment. The Second Case (Required – others are provided as additional experience) The second case (Bill Buxton) is engaged in learning mode and test mode. Learning mode provides you with an opportunity to explore the case environment, learn how to refine the way you ask questions, discover answers, and receive guidance from the ‘in case mentor assistance’ prompts! Click on as many of the links as you wish to discover how to access information and gain comfort in knowing what is expected of you. And you will be able to find out whether you were correct or incorrect and learn from your choices! This learning experience provides you with an opportunity to establish a step-by-step process for your history-taking and assessment, as well as learning how to prioritize your problem list. Go ahead and access resources to assist you as you learn to master your assessment process and prepare for the high stakes assessment. You will be able to revisit this case 10 times. In test mode, this case will give you an opportunity to experience the environment without the assistance of the expert mentor. This is a pre-assessment but there is NO CUT SCORE and you will be expected to complete the simulation to be able to move to the high stakes scenario. Be sure to practice in learning mode to gain experience and comfort with your assessment process and the types of questions to ask. You will have 10 opportunities to pass this case in test mode. The Third Case The third (3rd) case (Ariela Hernandez) is accessed in test mode only. This experience is not a practice run, it is your high stakes assessment! You will have 30 days to complete this case simulation. You will also have 10 opportunities to engage with the scenario to achieve the cut score of 80% or above. General Information Complete the history, physical assessment, and problem list - each aspect represents a component of your competency. Each time you complete the three (3) required simulation sections, you will have an opportunity to submit your experience. In learning mode ONLY, you can compare your questions, problem list, and assessments to the expert. The expert will reveal the required question areas and necessary assessments as well as the problems that should have been identified. You can compare your answers to the expert’s ‘must have’s’ by making note of the questions you asked. You may NOT change your answers once submitted. When you return to the simulation for another attempt, be sure to include those questions or assessments or problems this time! You will NOT be penalized for asking more questions than are necessary! The details are in the details (What to expect as you engage in iHuman) Once you log into the iHuman platform you will view a Welcome page that contains 6 video tutorials. We recommend you view these as they will help you become more familiar with the elements of the cases you will soon experience. OK. You’ve watched the videos. Now you are ready to begin! Click on the Assignments tab to see your first case assignment. It should be Marvin Webster. Select your assigned case by clicking on the green button. Be sure to read the Case Play instructions before you launch the case. The instructions will provide you with more detail about the requirements in each section of the case Launch the case by clicking on START. Notice there is a set of case play instructions for each case. The Cases The 3 case simulations you will engage with are as previously mentioned: a.
