And I'd also love to share my personal reasons for applying. Clinical: -Interested in critical care medicine: 2 terms of emergency, anaesthetics and ICU -apart, several electives, coffs harbour anaesthetics -Working in a rural hospital has provided me with numerous opportunities to learn and become a better and independent clinician -E.g. Taken on some registrar roles when the opportunities arose; anaesthetics, conducted pain rounds, taken on consults for acute pain services, assessed patients in preadmision clinic -procedural skills: ultrasound guided cannulation, bag mask ventilation, direct laryngoscopy among with other clinical skills listed on my resume Academic: -done several courses to improve my clinical skills -courses in ALS-1, ALS-2, X-rays interpretation, and have signed up for BASIC, intensive airway management, anaesthetic crisis management and use of ultrasound in rural emergency medicine courses later in the year. academic research, and have published two research articles on treatment of tumour cells using hyperthermia and chemo and non-chemo therapeutic agents) and on association between renal impairment and cerebral small vessel disease). - first prize for presenting my research at the Alliance NSW Junior Doctors' Conference. - a scholarship to attend the Rural Medical Australia Conference later this year. -presented in hospital grand rounds -conducted tutorials for medical students.
