NR 661 WEEK 6 ALL IN ONE - DOWNLOAD FOR CORRECT INFORMATION TO PASS EXAMS

Document Content and Description Below

NR 661 WEEK 6 ALL IN ONE This week starts your journey on an in-depth review of family nurse practitioner content to help prepare you for taking a national certification exam through the AANP or AN... CC after graduation. You will write a certification review plan this week, which will be a comprehensive plan of study to help you stay on track as you review multiple sources of content this term. This plan will be partially informed by the results of the APEA Pre-Predictor Exam that you completed in NR603. Review your strengths and weaknesses first, then plan your study around what you need. As such, you are creating an individualized instruction plan for yourself. This week you will also start an in-depth review using APEA resources. Chamberlain has partnered with APEA to provide review lectures on important concepts and topics in primary care. You will use these free resources to augment the APEA certification review textbooks that are required for this course. While the APEA review is intensive, you will need to use your other textbook resources that you have used previously in the FNP Program as well as review select chapters in AccessMedicine that is provided as a complimentary resource by the Chamberlain University library. Make sure you utilize these resources each and every week as you prepare for one of the most important exams in your career to date! A final word: Your faculty are here to support you along your journey this term. However, you will need to devote time and resources to maximize your performance this term, and that is something the faculty cannot do for you. Remember, what you get out of this course will be contingent on what you put in! Let's get started! One of the overarching goals of this final course in the FNP program is to help you prepare for your first year of clinical practice. You will soon be undertaking the largest role transition in your nursing career. Brown and Olshansky’s (1997) seminal work on NP role transition has informed how we conceptualize the stages of this transition from Limbo to Legitimacy: The first stage of the model is Laying the Foundation (Brown & Olshansky, 1997), which takes place between graduation and the start of your first NP job: 1. Recuperating from School: new graduates need to invest time in rejuvenating themselves after a long and stressful time as a graduate student. 2. Negotiating the Bureaucracy: many activities are required during this time such as obtaining licensure, certification, and credentialing. There are several costs associated with these activities as well. 3. Looking for a Job: some new NP grads wait until they have recuperated and passed the exam, while others start an immediate job search due to financial concerns. 4. Worrying: between studying for and taking the certification exam plus finding a new job, worry is a fairly common emotion during this time. You may have had similar thoughts about your own upcoming transition. Just know that you are not alone! Reference: Brown, M., & Olshansky, E. (1997).
