Works by inhibiting the incorporation of iodine molecules into the amino acid tyrosine. c. This works to impede the formation of thyroid hormone. d. Propylthiouracil has the ability to inhibit the conversion of T3 to T4 in the peripheral circulation. e. Pregnancy category D 3.
