Federal The Legislative Intent is to bring awareness to pharmaceutical companies to formulate new medications with non-addictive properties that work as pain-killers. -To bring awareness to decreasing the amount of opioids prescribed by physicians daily. -To manage safe disposal systems for opioid medications and used syringes. -To improve and secure borders from selling and distributing medications such as fentanyl. -To provide individual with opioid addiction with resources and additional support groups and recovery centers. -To regulate and make the opioid prescription limits stricter to prevent addiction. -First responder training to respond to fentanyl overdoses and training on naloxone to help treat an opioid overdose. -Youth prevention and recovery programs focused on helping children, adolescents and young adults to help prevent abuse and misuse. -Collection of data on controlled substances, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and infections associated with injection drug use.
