For this exam, you will assume t... he role of a 1/3ID ABCT brigade headquarters staff officer. It is D+22. 1/3ID ABCT seized OBJ JEFFERSON and is currently located between PL RED and PL BRONZE preparing to conduct offensive operations. A sketch of the BCT’s AO as well as its task organization are provided for your reference, but you can also refer to your C400 scenario documents as you complete this exam to facilitate your visualization. From III Corps’ COA Statement issued D+15: III Corps Mission: NLT D+23, III Corps SEIZES critical rail and commercial infrastructure (OBJ FRANKLIN) and CONTROLS the bridges over the MISSOURI RIVER (OBJs ADAMS, HENRY, MONROE and HAMILTON) to deny the Donovan Western Army (DWA) a bridgehead in the Atchison Leavenworth Johnson (ALJ) Region. III Corps Commander’s Intent: The purpose of this operation is to deny the DWA bridgeheads across the Missouri River which will force them to withdraw and allow us to reestablish the international border. Key tasks include neutralizing the Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) and Integrated Fires Command (IFC) along the Missouri River, interdicting enemy reserves at bridge crossings sites, minimizing congestion on MSR COSMIC, protecting staging areas and government infrastructure in TOPEKA, and retaining the support of the Pirtuni population. At endstate (D+23), The DWA has no organized forces larger than a company west of the Missouri River. III CORPS (USA) is postured to continue offensive operations with at least two BCTs into DONOVIA if required. The remainder of the Corps transitions to stability operations in support of the Pirtuni Government. The Pirtuni Government will be able to resume civil control of the ALJ Region, and internally displaced populations can begin moving home. From 4ID WARNORD 3 issued D+17: 4ID Mission: NLT 1730R D+23, 4ID (USA) controls OBJ MONROE and OBJ HAMILTON in order to protect the northern flank of 1ID (USA). 4ID Commander’s Intent: The purpose of our operation is to protect 1ID’s northern flank while they seize key terrain at the KANSAS CITY RAIL YARDS which will set the conditions for forcing the withdrawal of the Donovian Western Army (DWA) from PIRTUNI. Key tasks: first, clear the enemy disruption zone west of PL RED IOT establish conditions for seizing OBJs MADISON and JEFFERSON; second, neutralize DWA IFC assets west of PL BLUE IOT to allow 4ID freedom of maneuver; third, neutralize the DWA IADS west of PL BLUE IOT to allow aviation freedom of movement; and fourth, protect ground LOCs IOT sustain operations against likely enemy counterattacks and the TPDM. Endstate: 4ID controls near side crossing sites across the MISSOURI RIVER at OBJs MONROE and HAMILTON. 4ID is prepared to establish a bridgehead line on the far side of the MISSOURI RIVER east of OBJs MONROE and HAMILTON. The 64 DTG (DON) is destroyed or withdrawn east of PL BLUE and unable to maintain a bridgehead for counterattacks. 4ID is prepared to transition to the initial response phase of stabilization operations in LEAVENWORTH province.C400 Final Exam Scenario 2 AY21 Current Situation (Phase II, D+22): 4ID Shaping Operations: 4ID attacked with 3/4ID ABCT in the center and 1/3ID ABCT in the south, and seized OBJs MADISON and JEFFERSON, respectively, and defeated the 641 BTG disruption zone to ensure freedom of maneuver. 1/4ID SBCT (USA) established a blocking position against a counterattack from the north to protect 4ID’s northern flank. 1/4ID SBCT continues to block to the north. 4ID Decisive Operation: When 1ID (III Corps ME) begins its attack from PL RED to OBJ WASHINGTON, 1/3ID ABCT attacks from PL RED to CONTROL OBJ HAMILTON preventing enemy reserves from crossing into 1ID’s flank. Once 1/3ID ABCT crosses PL GOLD, 3/4ID ABCT attacks from PL RED to CONTROL OBJ MONROE preventing DON forces from crossing the MISSOURI RIVER in LEAVENWORTH to threaten 1ID’s northern flank. The 4ID ground LOA is PL BLUE. Reserve: The reserve (3-69 AR) moves initially to ATK SAXONS west of MCLOUTH, then repositions to ATK NORMANS vic FAIRMONT once 1/3ID ABCT passes PL BRONZE (note: attack positions not shown on sketch). The reserve has the following priorities: 1. Reinforce 1/3ID ABCT if it falls below 70% combat power or if it becomes fixed. 2. Reinforce 3/4ID ABCT if it falls below 70% combat power. 3. Attack to destroy an enemy bridge company at NAI 800. 4. Reinforce 1/4ID SBCT if more than one enemy BDET attacks from the north. 4ID Tasks to 1/3ID ABCT (note: these are updated from 4ID WARNORD 3): 1. Defeat 641 BTG disruption zone in AO IOT allow freedom of maneuver to OBJ HAMILTON (note: completed). 2. O/O seize OBJ JEFFERSON IOT ensure movement of forces across STRANGER CREEK (note: completed). 3.
