Growth maximisation This is a relatively loose concept and both sales and revenue maximisation can be considered in this category. Growth maximisation may come at the expense of lower profits. For example, starting a price war can lead to lower profits but enable higher sales. However, increasing market share can be a way to increase profits in the long-term. A firm operating on Amazon Marketplace may charge a much lower price in the short-run to gain a higher ranking and ratings on the site which it can benefit from in the future.
