ENGG3640 Lab 4: LED “Blinky” & 7 Segment Display Group 16: Nicholas Clifford, Anand Patel, Alicia Schmidt 1.0. Introduction 1.1. Lab Description In the previous lab, the concept of a low pow... er timer (LPTMR) was introduced as an on chip timer that could function properly even on very low amounts of power or while the microprocessor was in sleep mode. In lab 4, a different timer was introduced called the Periodic Interrupt Timer or PIT for short. The timer was used once again to signal interrupts which would call a handler function and execute the request in the second part of the lab, which was to alternate between two on board LEDs. The lab was purposed to further encourage understanding of interrupt timers, controlling physical aspects of the freescale K60 board, and to develop an interface between the microprocessor to a 7 segment display. 1.2. System Requirements (Tools & Equipment) ● Keil uVision ● Freescale TWR-K60D100M ● Connection cable between PC and board 2.0. Background 2.1. Overview of programming tools & Devices Used The equipment used during the lab was the Freescale Low-Power MCU, TWR-K60D100M. The kit uses a USB connection to sync with the Keil uVision software that is available through the computers in the lab. Other equipment included: 13K Ω R x 11, 12 Pin 7 Segment Display, an external add on for the freescale K60 board to enable wiring, transistor x 3, a power supply, and multiple wiring cables. 3.0. Implementation 3.1. Top-Down Functional Implementation [Show More]
