Stonyfield Farm is a successful company because of their economic and ethical responsibilities, as well as their great products. I believe they all go hand-in-hand. Current chairman and former president and CEO of Stonyfield, Gary Hirshberg had a healthy mission in place for yogurt production while protecting the environment. Generally, individuals prefer purchasing eco-friendly products and respect a company that is sound in its corporate social responsibility, or CSR. As Stonyfield moved to a more innovative brand while remaining organic, its company simply thrived because of their honest efforts of avoiding the use of toxic pesticides and GMOs; as they plan to move their yogurt cups to plant-based material rather than petroleum. This is certainly a great way to cut their carbon emissions for a healthier planet.
