When preparing a budget for product testing, explain why or why not you would invest the time & money to identify delighters, those things that make customers happy even if customers do not explicitly demand these features. If you would, what technique would you use to identify delighters? According to our text, political science “is an empirical discipline that accumulates both quantitative & qualitative data.” (Roskin, 14) These research data are used by political scientists in order to form a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a plausible explanation that is based on the data collected. If there are a number of irrefutable facts that supports a hypothesis, it becomes a theory. The beauty of developing a theory is that it forces an individual or governing body to look deeper into a situation & arrive at a different conclusion from initial reaction to incite a vision for change. When faced with either people are forced to look deeper into the situation & this I what I find sad. Majority of the time when someone mentions an idea or probable cause of something, it is often too late to respond to the problem. Then again, how are we able to identify an actual problem versus a potential one every time there is a theory? Collapse Mark as Read RE: Understanding Politics Thank you, Tiara. I do agree with you that often we are forced to look within for an explanation after a possible problematic scenario becomes a reality. Society in general has a bad habit of ignoring the warning signs of impending collapse. We have the mentality of “That’s not going to happen to us!” We have a false sense of security that we are invincible from harm. That is the root cause of all problems. Denying the probability of a theoretical problem becoming a reality when the facts are staring us in the face is just plain negligent & arrogant to think that we are impervious to the consequences. Any potential problem should be considered as an actuality, thus forcing solutions to be formulated. This prepares us for whatever it is to come & minimizes possible casualties. Collapse Mark as Read RE: Understanding Politics 7/8/2016 12:05:36 PM It seems that people are quick to accept a theory without any bases as fact. If the theory is spread around social media as well as mainstream media a person will except it with the idea that everyone is. Because of this it distracts someone from investigating further & relies on what the general public expects them to believe & consider. [Show More]
