The roles are varied depending on the situation, time period, place, for the growth of family members, and the whole country. They devoted their whole life to the prosperity of men, their children without offering any incentive, and their desire. Their roles were different from men's. Women were in charge of maintaining homes, consider childbearing and rearing, do domestic duties, make men happy in a sexual relationship. They are not allowed to keep their own wages, had to fight for equal pay and hours, fight for their rights. Women have to face these types of problem since the earlier history of human life. New England women and the southern colonies women roles were varied. These groups come from different backgrounds and played different roles in their family and community. But both colonies women played a big role in the survival of their families. The life of women in early colonial America was hard. Colonial women were supposed to help the husband, obey their husbands, and work in the house, and raising the children. Southern colonies women had more power than New England. The New England colonies had strong religious values than other colonies because Puritan settlers brought their strong religious values with them to the New World, in which women were subordinate to her husband and dedicate herself to rearing to children. Women’s from the southern colonies helped their husbands on farming and animal husbandry, cooking collecting logs, sewing, spinning, preserving food, cleaning, and raising children are daily basis of work. Native women were also cultivated and harvest the vegetables and plants. Women’s learned skills like farming, fishing, swimming, and hunting. Southern colonies women were a responsible housewife she has to manage the family budget, manufactured the goods such as, dairy products, making bread, cheese, butter. While the husband sold the goods and received the money. Women used to respect and bowed down in front of their husbands. Rich women can afford servants for the household duties. Married women of the colonies did not have any legal rights, but a widow or single woman could start their own business. Normally they were married by at the 13 or 14 year of life and if some were not married by 25, they had to face social humiliation. Puritan New England has differed from both England and the rest of Europe. Wives of puritan did not worked in the fields with her husband whereas German women worked in fields. Puritan women believed in witches. According to Corbet et al., 2014 women, seen as more susceptible to the Devil because of their supposedly weaker constitution, made up the vast majority of suspects and those were executed. New England women had to face danger form the Chesapeake colonies. They were sexually exploited by unscrupulous tobacco planters. The colonial women could not divorce, sue anyone. Women were taught to read-only because they could learn the Bible, but few were taught to write. Women were not allowed to vote and could not make their property or will. “Women who acted outside of the traditional roles of women were often shunned by the rest of society and were sometimes even punished (Nelson, 2020)”. The relationship between native women and colonist were good at the beginning because both colonies were immigrants and they learned both harvesting and cultivating the crops. After winning the trust of native women they took advantage and started their new towns, lands. According to Diaz, 2011 “Native American women's had religious roles in the colonization of America”. Conclusion women played a very important role in their life whether in ancient life or in the present life. They all have a significant role in raring children, budget management, harvesting, and cultivating crops, making happy their husbands. Women never paid for this all her sacrifice. Life of women in colonies and native Americans were hard and a big role in surviving their families. Native women helped both colonies women to settle down. Colonies women have less power than native women. Both colonies (New England and southern colonies) had an important role in their families whereas native women also had an important role in upbringing their families and religion.
