This paper will present a proposal for action that is needed within the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma community in order to provide a necessary need for a specific population. The proposal will highlight th... e desired targeted population who will benefit from directly, services that will be provided, short term and long-term goals, and financial stability. Targeted population of the proposed community action proposal will be directed toward the homeless population of adult women from ages 18-24 years old with mental illness. Mental illness is defined as a health condition that includes emotion, thinking or behaviors that are associated with distress that result in trouble functioning in social, work, and family gathering environments. The services that will be provided for this population will consist of mental and physical health, employment services, budgeting assistance, legal support, multiple classes and programs, along with Spiritual guidance. The services will be consistent with the guidelines of a non-profit organization. The young women will have the ability to become empowered and healthy that will ultimately allow the women to rise above their circumstances.
