The exam questions begin on the following page Page 1ICT508: IT Project Management Final Examination Semester 2 2020 Question 1 Total Marks: 15 Marks It is early afternoon, and you are answering emails in your office. You have received an email from a member of the Board. This email states: ‘During our last meeting you talked about Functional and Non-Functional testing. Please explain the difference between functional and non-functional tests and give some examples to explain how they will be used in the EduStream project. I understand that you are very busy so please just provide clear dot points to explain this to me and spend no more than about 20 minutes on the response’ for both of the parts listed below. Utilise the Define, Explain and Apply approach to provide the required information in the following two parts: i) Define and Explain the difference between functional and non-functional tests. Type your response into the following cell.  Fuctional testing is a testing which checks that each function of our software operates with the requirement that is specified. This involves black box testing and donot depend upon the source of code. Functions are tested by giving input to system and getting a output and than comparing the actual results with the expected results. This mainly includes User Interface, APIs, Database, security, client/ server applications. It is based on customer's requirements.  Non functional testing basically deals with the performance, usibility and reliability of the system. It checks the readiness of the system whether system is available for use. For example it checks how many people can login into the system. It is based on customers expectation. Maximum marks allocated for Question 1 i). [5 Marks] ii) List four functional tests and four non-functional tests. For each type of test provide concise dot-point information to Define, Explain and Apply that test. In particular, for the Apply component, give one example of when you would use that type of test for the EduStream project. Type your response into the following cell. Non-functional testing :  Security: this checks how our system can be saved from attacks which can be from internal and external sources. This is tested by security tests.  Reliability : this checks that system can perform functions without being failure. This is checked by reliability testing.  Survivability: this check that system can recovers itself after any software failure. This is checked by recovery testing.  Availability: this checks that to which degree user can depend upon system for operations. This is checked by stability testing. Our application load time should be upto 5 second for 2000 users when they are using it simultaneously. Functional testing: Page 2ICT508: IT Project Management Final Examination Semester 2 2020  Unit Testing: We check that we had meet our design and behave as intended.  User acceptance testing: We check that our requirement are met or not.We verify that solution works for system.  Smoke testing: We check that most important functions of our system works. This decide that build is enough for proceeding for further testing.  Sanity testing: In sanity testing we see that our bugs are fixed and no further issues occurs due to the changes.
