Based on the information provided, how will you prioritize your care, what assessments will you include and in what order? Please provide rationale for your response. Affected joints have stiffness; swelling with hard, bony protuberances; pain with motion; and limitation of motion (Jarvis 620). Upon receiving Fred, I will do a complete set of vital signs. Assessing his pain will be a priority. I will like to know Fred’s past history of pain given his past diagnosis of OA, DM and PVD. If he has a history of chronic pain, I will like to know the location of the pain and his normal pain goal prior to recent fall. Given his current situation, I will like to know the type, characteristic, location of pain and current pain goal. Know both previous and current pain goals and location will help determine if pain management if effective.
