Although there is no universally accepted definition of quality, what are some of the common element to various definitions of quality? Please identify and discuss. If I understand the question, and... I say this because I had not known until now that there was no universal definition of quality; this is a very thought-provoking discussion (laughs) some common elements to various definitions of quality (educational guess). 1. Quality is what quality does- If a business that cannot manage then quality of its developments and products have a tendency to fall apart. 2. Fit for Purpose- In my opinion this is conceivably the most suitable business definition of quality because it's applicable to any process, service or product. However, measuring efforts can be problematic. 3. Conformance to Requirements- This definition is idyllic for quality assurance teams that are required to validate processes, and product quality. However, the issue with this definition is that requirements may offer a partial and idiosyncratic interpretation of quality. 2. What does Zero defect really mean? Is it a realistic quality objective? Why or why not? Zero Defects is a term devised by Mr. Philip Crosby [ CITATION SAX19 \l 1033 ] in his book “Absolutes of Quality Management” and has developed as a trending perception in quality management; Six Sigma has implemented it as a major theory. Zero defects in quality management denotes a state where waste is removed, and defects are reduced. It means warranting quality standards and dropping defects to the level of zero in projects. As for zero defects being a quality objective; right time first. (?) Quality should be taken care of at the very first go rather than solving problems at a later stage.
