Hemophilia A accounts for 80% of cases and it caused by a deficiency in factor VIII.4.When caring for a child who has had a submersion injury the nurse should inform the parents that the child needs observations because the child is still at risk for complications from the submersioninjury such as cerebral swelling. Complications can include respiratory compromise and cerebral edema during the first 24 hours after submersion.
