#Recyclenergy Prepared for: Prepared by: ………… SOCS 325 Environmental Sociology Figur e 1.Solar Electric Generating System in... California. (Anne C. Mulkern) #Recyclenergy Two environmental issues that I feel passionate for are world pollution & recycling. Air pollution can harm us when it accumulates in the air in high enough concentrations. Millions of Americans live in areas where urban smog, particle pollution, & toxic pollutants pose serious health concerns. People exposed to high enough levels of certain air pollutants may experience irritation of the eyes, nose, & throat, coughing, chest tightness, & breathing difficulties, worsening of existing lung & heart problems, such as asthma, & increased risk of heart attack. Recycling is very important as well. If we don’t recycle, Pollution & pollutants will overpopulate the Earth whether it is air, water, or land pollution. People will stop riding bikes & will ride cars which emit carbon dioxide into the air. The atmosphere will be damaged if too much carbon dioxide goes into the air. Landfills will become too massive & crowded with trash & items that could be recycled. The landfills will become too toxic from all the chemicals coming out of Styrofoam, batteries, plastic, paper, & more. By not reducing, reusing, & recycling, we are destroying natural habitats. The trees are being cut down faster than they can regrow, thanks to people who don’t recycle paper & other wood products. One of the social media hashtag campaign I have been influenced by is #solarpanels, because it encourages companies & homes to change to renewable energy source that will benefit the environment as well. Typical electricity is generated from fossil fuel that will run out one day. Solar energy is a good alternative to replace fossil fuel as the major energy source because solar power is renewable at absolutely no cost to supply energy infinitely. Any effort that can reduce the pollution to the environment helps to save the earth. There were several hashtags I was intending to use for my campaigns. Some of those options were #100percentpanels, #reduceozonelayer, #recyclenergy & #solarpower. From those four options, I decided to go with #recyclenergy, because my campaign talks about how we can recycle energy in a way that will help protect the ozone layer. Solar energy that is harmless to the environment will be the major energy source for future. The goal of my campaign #recyclenergy is to encourage companies, universities, colleges, sports clubs & others to commit to going 100% clean energy. Solar energy is definitely the future trend of energy. Nowadays, many households have converted their home to be powered solely by solar power, obtaining all the advantages offered by the sun. Solar technology captures energy from sunlight & transforms it into electricity at your power plug. The system consists of an inverter as well as the solar panels. This campaign is intended to absolutely everyone. Philosopher Martin Buber once said, “If not you, then who? If not now, then when?”. The main goal is to help the environment, solar panels can harness the energy from the sun & convert it to electricity. Therefore, the use of solar panels is environment friendly. Besides being environmentally friendly, it will help you cut down electricity bill. The key reason that most households convert their power source to solar energy is to cut down their electrical bill because the electrical usage generated from the sun is free. Once you have installed the solar power system, it can last twenty to thirty years without major maintenance needed. You may need to do system check once a year, just to make sure everything is performing as it should. Since it requires very minimum maintenance cost, your cost should be minimal. According to experts, an annual inspection of your rooftop solar system could cost around $150. Added to this is the cost of cleaning your solar panels, which might average at $10 to $20 per panel. The solar industry is necessary if we want to keep the planet healthy & the global temperature at a safe level. Climate change has led to increase in flooding & hurricanes due to disturbed weather patterns. Higher carbon dioxide concentration is making oceans acidic & killing marine life, like corals. Climate change causes extinct of species from Sub-Arctic Boreal forests to tropical Amazon forests. Higher temperatures result melting of polar ice caps, reducing habitats for wildlife & also increase sea level. This results in submersion & loss of land along the coast, displacing people. Irregular rainfall or increasing droughts affects agriculture & livelihoods of the weaker sections of society globally. Installing solar does not only have positive effects on the environment it also directly has an impact on the economy & people getting jobs. This emerging industry is producing many roles from solar design, to installation on large commercial businesses & the installation of solar panels on residential homes & houses. What I hope to achieve in my campaign #Recyclenergy, is that people become aware that we need to protect the Ozone Layer. The Ozone layer protects all life on Earth from the harmful effects of the Sun's rays. It has been depleting for many years now. Solar energy's greatest attraction is that it can be produced on a small scale directly by the end consumers in contrast to large centralized conventional energy sources controlled by large corporations. In addition, there are many different campaigns that people can make donations that will directly go basic operations like making super people in many countries, of many languages can participate. Volunteering is another option, volunteers with a range of skills, such as translating, & community organizing can participate in many events. Hebda, T., & Czar, P. (2013). I am a DHS which is a fancy title for a director of nursing. My whole entire professional life revolves around auditing my nurses & their charting to get the max reimbursement I can get my campus. Thanks, Shelly Respond Collapse Mark as Read RE: Documentation & Reimbursement Darla Fesler Email this Author 2/8/2015 7:11:27 PM Modified:2/8/2015 7:42 PM Shelly, The hospital where I work is all the time educating about the importance of charting real time & accurately. I have always been told that if it isn't charted that the task is not done. I really like what you posted about taking credit for what you do. I think that is a very good way to look at it. You do want to take credit for the tasks you do & it is also necessary for reimbursement. This also helps with patient safety & satisfaction. [Show More]
