Week 4: Clinical VISE Assignment Faculty calls: Greets student, Summarize: Student: “Good afternoon: Dr. V, I am calling you because you are an Orthopedist specialist and surgeon I need to ... refer: • 23-year-old male patient for forward evaluation, treatment, and possible surgery. • The patient presented to the clinic today with a 1 day left hand and wrist pain, redness and swelling without skin breakage. • All fingers have good capillaries refill. • Left 4th finger has decreased mobility and pain with motion. • An X-ray of the left hand revealed: A displacement spinal fracture of the 4th left finger only. • The patient also has left wrist sprain. • A splint has been placed on left 4th finger and the wrist has been ACE wrapped. • A prescription of ➢ Ibuprofen 800mg every 4- 6 hours PRN daily as been given. Medical History: • Hyperlipidemia • Diabetes Current Medication: • Pravastatin 20mg daily. • Metformin 500mg BID daily.
