What is sexual assault? Sexual assault is define as when a person is forced to engage in sexual act, or a person is touched, unwantedly kissed, or raped by other person. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (2014), states that sexual assault is a crime of violence and aggression, incorporating variety of sexual activities that ranges from sexual coercion to contact abuse such as unwanted kissing, fondling, or touching to rape. Reproductive-aged victims of sexual assault are at risk of unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and mental health conditions, including posttraumatic stress disorder.
