She has had a 3 day history of nasal drainage, cough, with poor PO intake. Lily is a 6- month-old Caucasian female born at 38 weeks. Learning Objectives 1. Identify the primary nursing diagnosis. 2. Recognize indicators of a respiratory condition. 3. Anticipate physician/nurse practitioner orders for this client. 4. Communicate changes of status to health care team using SBAR tool. 5. Implement nursing interventions for clients with a respiratory condition. 6. Communicate effectively with client and family. 7. Prioritize immediate nursing interventions based on accurate assessment and analysis of data. Pre-Simulation Ticket You are about to participate in a simulated patient case. The child has a chief complaint - We expect you to assess the patient and manage her to the best of your ability. Treat the simulated child and her family as actual humans.
