The reading this week discusses the role of political scientists & their attempts to treat the s... tudy of politics as a science. In these efforts, they build scholarship based on reason, balance, & supporting evidence, although much of this scholarship is based on theory. Discuss how political scientists attempt to quantify data, manipulate data statistically, & attempt to validate hypotheses. As Roskin (2014) discussed, that political scientist attempted to quantify data, validate hypotheses by manipulating data statistically. They are focus on quantifiable data, using public opinions, elections & congressional voting results. Most times the results are subjective as human brain works in different ways compared to natural science subjects. As the subject is based on many peoples’ opinions, we end with many different views & this is difficult to sort out. Each & everyone of us has our own thoughts on political issues & most times someone is always disagreeing on what the government decides on. Roskin (2014) pointed out that large areas of political are unquantifiable., & that many decisions are made in secrecy. Dealing with the how & why, is just too difficult & too secret to be quantified. Ultimately the study of political science is based on observable evidence that utilizes both quantified & qualitative data.
