According to El-Masri, M. (2012), CI is one of the most dependable indicators of accurateness of our assumption. In week five, I gave the data for 10 nurses heights which was as follows: 60”, 68”, 66”, 65”, 65”. 67”, 63”, 65”, 68”, and 61”. I chose a convenience sample as I chose from 10 nurses in my workplace. It was quantitative continuous as it has numbers and may involve fractions. Some faults of this are that it does not represent the entire population. My choices were made based on ease of recruitment. This method can also demonstrate bias which will skew the results. The last fault that I see is that there was no study criteria developed for exclusion and inclusion. If I had chosen to utilize population sampling, the entire population would have been my dataset and the estimates would have been more reliable. Data 60 Mean 64.8000 68 Sample Standard Deviation 2.7406 66 65 65 67 63 65 68 61 The point estimate is the mean of 64.8000 which indicates that the average height of the ten nurses is 64.8 inches. The CI is Lower limit of 62.84 – upper limit of 66.76. I am 95% confident that the true mean height of all of the employees in my company is between 62.84 inches to 66.76 inches. t or z Confidence Interval for µ This study source was downloaded by 100000831988016 from CourseHero.com on 04-25-2022 06:57:18 GMT -05:00 https://www.coursehero.com/file/45472080/week-7-labdocx/ CAROL LYNNE CATES 3 Confidence Level 0.950 Enter decimal n 10 Mean 64.8000 StDev 2.7406 pop stdev no Enter yes if population stdev known Enter No if population stdev is unknown SE 0.866654 t 2.262 Margin of Error 1.960371 Lower Limit 62.839629 Upper Limit 66.760371 With the confidence level changes to 99%, the upper and lower limit changes to 61.98 inches – 67.62 inches. According to Holmes, A. and Dean, S. (2019), the margin of error tells you how many percentage points your results will vary from the real population value. The margin of error when increasing the CL from 95% to 99% increases from 1.96 to 2.82. This means that 99% of the time, the true population parameter will fall within the interval estimate of 61.98 – 67.62. t or z Confidence Interval for µ Confidence Level 0.990 Enter decimal n 10 Mean 64.8000 StDev 2.7406 pop stdev no Enter yes if population stdev known Enter No if population stdev is unknown SE 0.866654 t 3.250 Margin of Error 2.816625 Lower Limit 61.983375 Upper Limit 67.616625 This study source was downloaded by 100000831988016 from CourseHero.com on 04-25-2022 06:57:18 GMT -05:00 https://www.coursehero.com/file/45472080/week-7-labdocx/ CAROL LYNNE CATES 4 References El-Masri, M.
