Exploring the Benefits of Google Cloud Computing Introduction Grid computing is a computing infrastructure that integrates computer resources in various physical places to accomplish a specific obj... ective (Al-Jaroodi & Mohamed, 2018). The unused resources of numerous computers are combined and made accessible by a single process through resource pooling. Computing on the grid and computing in the cloud are conceptually similar and can be confused with one another easily. The ideas are comparable, and they both have the same goal: to facilitate the delivery of services to a large number of users by employing the collaborative utilization of shared resources by those users. This paper explores the concepts of cloud and grid computing, mainly by focusing on the Google Cloud Platform. What is Grid and Cloud Computing? Grid computing is an internet-reliant computational approach that can analyze massive quantities of data using networked computers that work together to solve a problem. These machines are coordinated to work together to find a solution. In its most basic form, it is a massive network of networked computers that all work together to solve a single issue by breaking it down into several grids. Because it is based on a virtualized environment, tasks are handled and scheduled in a distributed manner without any time dependency. This eliminates the need for centralized control. The term "cloud computing" refers to internet-based computing in which an application does not view the data directly but creates a massive resource pool by sharing resources with other applications (Al-Jaroodi & Mohamed, 2018). It is a new computing paradigm based on network technology and was developed specifically for remotely supplying scalable and measurable information technology resources. Concept of Cloud Computing Cloud computing is an entirely new category built on network technology. In this type of computing, each cloud user has a private resource that the particular service provider supplies. It relies on virtualized resources that can be found in clusters distributed over several different physical locations (Annamalai et al., 2019). Usage Areas Web hosting, storing and processing data, and software as a service (SaaS) are just some of the applications and use areas for which cloud computing may be used. With cloud hosting, websites may be stored on a remote server and accessed through the internet. This removes the necessity of maintaining and managing the hardware and software necessary for the website to work (Annamalai et al., 2019). Besides, everyday cloud computing is a software as a service or SaaS. It eliminates the need to install and manage software programs on local workstations by distributing them via the internet in the application form. The storing and processing of data is another use of cloud computing. It allows companies to process and store massive volumes of data on the cloud, allowing them to access and examine the data from any global location (Annamalai et al., 2019).
