a) What did you observe regarding changes in the frequency of allele A1? There was no change because it is in HWE. One parameter that we can set in the program is not explicitly mentioned in the as... sumptions of HWE, namely the initial frequency. If we change the initial frequency, how do you predict that the results will differ? I predict that the results will not differ, and the line will stay straight, and there will be a change in the allele frequency that’s all. a) How does the frequency of A1 change? The allele frequency of A1 stayed constant. When the initial frequency started t 0.20 it stayed at 0.20, then when the initial frequency started at 0.80 it stayed at 0.80. b) Does the initial value of the frequency of A1 affect how the frequency changes over time? No because the frequency of A1 stays constant throughout so it is not affected. c) Was evolution occurring in these populations? Justify your answer!!! No evolution was occuring the HWE conditions were present therefore there was no evolution occurring in this simulation. a). My prediction was correct the the line started out by slowly increasing then it started to stagger a little then once it hit a certain amount it flattened out to a constant rate and stayed that way reaching equilibrium.
