Eyewitness testimonies is a term used in a legal setting for someone who has witnessed an accident or crime. While Memory and Eyewitness testimonies can work together there can be problems with recalling the memory. Because based on the age of an adult or child that experienced the same event their mind will process the memory differently, Self-Administered Interviews can improve the quality of a testimony given by a child, and Eyewitness testimonies can be unreliable due to social influences or their age. Age-related differences in the phenomenal characteristics of long- term memories of March 11, 2004 In 2017, Rocio Vallet et al. wrote an article about how adults and the youth remember the attack that happened on March 11, 2004, in Spain. Rocio Vallet et al. discussed that memories from trauma can cause Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). When a memory is triggered it is also known as Flashbulb Memory but, it does not have to be traumatizing to have a Flashbulb Memory (Rocio Vallet et al., 2017). In the article, they brought in people who witnessed the attack in Spain. At the time the ages range from 9 to 30 years of age and now it has been over 10 years.
