COM 600 Week 2 Analysis.doc Research Article Analysis COM/600 Analysis of œWhy Do People Believe What They Believe? This student chose to analyze an article written by Brent Auernheimer, Mart... ha Crosby, Marie Idling, and Barbara Klemm. This article centers on how people determine website credibility. The authors conducted the study by actually completing two studies. Participants were college students pursuing degrees in computer science or education. Main Points One of the first main points the authors bring to light is how the students identified educational website credibility as opposed to the credibility of websites created by authors with vested interests. Next, the authors define credibility and its importance to varying fields. Then, the authors discuss levels of economic and education as they relate to the use of credible sources. After that, the authors go on to explain consumers do not practice confirming website credibility as they say they did in a previous study. Finally, the authors review how teachers who instruct courses related to credibility determine credibility for themselves.
