Magnet Model In healthcare it is important to understand who you patient is, what their goals are, why they are in the situation they are in, and what they expect from you. Most patients do not experience this form of care in healthcare. They experience the “Fast Food model”, Im in a hurry your just another person in the line. The purpose of this paper is to describe how a magnet hospital can meet these needs of patient before a patient experiences the lack of care that will come from not meeting them. In a Magnet Hospital it is important to practice a more therapeutic model of care that would include connecting, examining, listening and embracing a patient. With this method patient feel important and taken care of. The key component to all of this is patient trust, if they feel welcomed and that they can trust the staff they are more inclined to be more forthcoming with any symptoms or concerns that they might have. To break this down it can be done in four steps: 1.Connecting- Get down to the core of the patient, look at them as a person, take clues from the way the interact with you and the people that come and go from a room, watch for eye contact, observe behaviors, look at clothes and overall hygiene, watch family members.
