Multicultural is defined as being made or included by more than one ethnicity or culture (Multicultural - Dictionary Definition, n.d.). This group of individuals are discriminated against from one or at times, both associated cultures. “Discrimination is the unfair or prejudicial treatment of people and groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age or sexual orientation” (“Discrimination: What It Is, and How to Cope,” 2019). Multicultural individuals received just as much hatred if not more than that of black people. The White race created so many legalized policies such as Colonization, Slavery, Genocide of Indigenous people, the Chinese Immigration Exclusion Acts of the 1800s, and the Jim Crow laws in efforts to distinguish White people from anyone outside their race (Blumenfield et al., 2018). Conversely, this was a contradiction due to black slave women being subjected to rape by their white slave owners. This treacherous act created biracial children that were never recognized by their paternal side and not accepted by their maternal side of the family.
