These two words correlate with "valid" and "warranted," which is about concluding in reality. Inductive reasoning is more of a generalized observation, whereas deductive reasoning is more specific. The lexical definitions and connotations of valid and warranted aids us understanding the difference of deductive and inductive reasoning and how it impacts the observer conclusion. Fallacies To learn to identify similar fallacies and understand how to describe the faulty reasoning, there involves unordinary, non-technical terms and help assess arguments (Facione & Gittens, 2016). According to Facione & Gittens (2016) analyzing the meanings words used and grammatical rules of a language can reveal the source of error. With “Denying the Antecedent” the fallacy follows the invalid pattern of if A, then B, Not A, therefore not B. Our text states “If we see a light in the window we know someone is home (Premise #1). But we do not see a light in the window (Premise #2). So no one is home (Conclusion), (Facione & Gittens, 2016). The fallacy is the language can be misinterpret, into believing the conclusion.
