United States has been a subject of an emotive political debate and rigorous reforms since the 20th century. Historically, pledges of healthcare reforms have defined elections at the federal and state levels with the electorate voting for politicians vouching for broad, holistic and progressive health care reform proposals (Lanford, &Quadagno, 2016). The ensuing discussion captures some of the major healthcare events, reforms and milestones that have been undertaken in the U.S. since the 1940s.
