He had a dream to change the world and did make an impact. He inspired many by showing them how to apply peace to the world. The servant-leader principles that Dr. King had been an overall vision, listening, persuasion, and building a community. Dr. King showed an overall vision to inspire followership. He leads by example and always puts others first. "The servant-leader serves those who follow their lead and collectively with their team do an organization or mission (Gandolfi et al., 2017). Dr. King showed those qualities by leading others to a common goal of peace within the United States. He wanted to change the nation to become a better society. Dr. King wanted to have fairness and equality that wasn't happening during that time. He was able to get people to follow him by presenting his vision and being a humble leader. Dr. King was an active listener. He understood what was going on and was able to take a stand. He wanted to make a difference for the people and the nation as a whole. Greenleaf states that "one must not be afraid of a little silence (Greenleaf, Senge, Covey & Spears, 2002)." Dr. King was very proactive with his speeches based on what was going on.
