Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) may have a direct or indirect effect on young adults. Beyond being ill, the pandemic has had a negative effect on many young adults' social, cognitive, and mental health. Trauma experienced at this period of development can have long-term implications for the child's whole life. The Coronavirus caused the U.S to be on lock down, which lead to social regulations effecting how people socialize causing people to become depress and have social anxiety. Being on lock down because of Covid-19 has caused people to become depressed and have social anxiety. The outbreak of Covid-19 had caused our lives to be put on lockdown. We shut down our lives and our economy last spring to hopefully contain COVID-19's expansion long enough to be able to handle it by widespread monitoring and touch tracing. Fewer than 2,000 Americans would have died by then if our reaction had been as successful as South Korea's, Australia's, or Singapore's. We would have had just 36,000 COVID-19 deaths in the United States by mid-June if our reaction had been as successful as Germany's (Wellington, 2020). COVID-19 deaths should have been avoided in 99 percent of cases. We, on the other hand, did not.
