Family_Assessment.docx Family-Focused Functional Assessment Grand Canyon University Introduction During the conduct of a family-focused functional assessment, I conducted an interview in Mikes f... amily. Mike is a miner and his family lives in working class town. Mikes family has five members; Mike, as the household head, his wife, two children and Mikes mother aged 70s. Living in a working class town, the family have access to several facilities and grounds necessary for a better and comfortable living. In terms of spirituality, all the members are Christians despite the fact that, the grandmother, Mikes mother, in the family holds to traditions and some of the cultural beliefs. According to them, their relatives live far away in remote areas and rarely visit them during the holidays. Findings According to responses given by Mikes family members on nutrition, a healthy diet is a meal that constitutes protein, fiber, fat, minerals, water and vitamins. The family serves fruits at least five times in their meals in a one week period. Apples, bananas, oranges strawberries, blueberries and avocados are the fruits commonly included in their diet. The family normally has four meals in a day meals constituting of breakfast, lunch, four oclock tea and supper. Mike always ensures that the family makes good food choices, have proper hydration and ensure good portion control. Mikes mother strictly follows a nutrition plan formulated by a health professional.
