The culture someone is born into has a large role in shaping the foundation of their beliefs and traditions, making up a part of their identity. Someone who is born into an American culture, for example, may think that certain cultural practices in other countries are strange, and vise versa. Some practices involve food restrictions and others could go as far as bodily mutation (Garfors, 2016). These varying customs make each culture unique and plays a substantial role in creating one™s identity. Indonesian Culture Like every other culture around the world, the Indonesian Cultures and their different customs and traditions is what makes each one distinct and personalized to the people within that culture. Some key characteristics of the Indonesian culture include the importance of family and education, legends, the performative arts and œface, which is about keeping up a reputation and having peers think highly of each other (Putri, 2018). Indonesia is also the largest Muslim practicing country in the world, which plays a huge part in how the culture came to be.
