Parents' absence at school provides the students opportunities to make their food, which leads to weight gain due to consistent eating out. Moreover, independence makes students have fewer chances of working out, making most students live unhealthy lifestyles. Most first-year students gain weight during their first year on campus due to the newly developed eating habits with limited working out.
