IDEA, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, was created to ensure all students were able to receive FAPE, Free Appropriate Public Education, if they qualify for the program. This program offers students with disabilities the help they need to receive the same kind of education that students without disabilities receive. IDEA makes sure the school intervenes as soon as the teacher notices that the student may need more help to learn the information in the classroom.
