Mainly the matter of George Floyd. A young African American male allegedly purchased smokes with a forged twenty bill. Floyd subsequently died under the care of a police officer. A neglected care because the officer was kneeling on his neck for over eight minutes to restrict him, even though he was handcuffed. Officer Derek Chauvin was consequently discharged and charged with second-degree murder due to Floyds death. A series of high-profile deaths of African American men while police custody has boosted inquisitions about how African Americans are treated throughout their arrest procedure [ CITATION Ord20 \l 1033 ]. This paper will further discuss the data obtained on Arrest-related deaths, study research and data compilation on arrest-related deaths, and the in- person survey process. In 2003, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) [CITATION Ban19 \l 1033 ] conceived the Arrest-Related Deaths program to census all deaths throughout arrests or while attempting to gain custody by either a state or local law enforcement agency.
