C235 Task 1.docx C235 Task 1 Western Governors University Training Plan STATEMENT OF PROBLEM AND PURPOSE Alliah Construction company recently had three workplace accidents. Based on the OSHA in... spectors findings, Alliah has a lot of room for improvement regarding best safety practices. To help make a difference and improve safety, it is best to develop a training and development program. The purpose of this training is to help solve the companys problem regarding the use of safety equipment, availability of safety equipment and maintenance of occupational injury and illness records. Not only will the employees be in safer conditions, but it will help with the quality of work being done, and with referrals and repeat customers. TRAINING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES The objective of this training program will be to teach current and future Roofing Supervisors on the importance and usage of safety equipment and maintain occupational injury and illness records. We will also educate the supervisors on best practices on jobsites. SKILLS GAPS There are four main skills gaps that we will focus on that was lacking by the Roofing Supervisors during the OSHA inspector visit. 1.Employee failure to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 2.Inadequate supply of fall protection equipment 3.Incomplete first aid kit and had expired items on the items available. 4.Safety equipment missing from power tools.
