In the past 20 years there has been an increased focus on the issue surrounding immunizations and the potential risks associated with them. Many people believe that vaccinations could potentially cause various problems such as autism, diabetes, Crohns disease, Aspergers and other autoimmune diseases, and therefore people have raised the question of whether or not the vaccinations are worth it or not (Clarke, 2016, p. 212). Some individuals are so opposed to immunizations that they are going to great lengths to organize against them. Many people use a cost-benefit analysis to weigh the pros and cons of this decision, in order to make a fully informed decision. Despite the advantages and disadvantages of immunizations, it is widely believed by healthcare professionals that vaccinations are much more beneficial than they are harmful. The most significant advantage to vaccines is the fact that they protect people from disease. This decline in disease is due to the fact that vaccinations have been increasingly more accessible and therefore more frequently administered in additional countries. The vaccinated group of people thereby protects those who do not obtain immunizations.
