These cycles of reflection provide an opportunity for educators to learn from one another and improve their own practice. Reflection, as a collaborative group activity, is a powerful means of change. It is therefore necessary to understand what the reflective-cycle process should include and the potential impact on teacher collaboration, assessment, data analysis, student work collection and evaluation, and instruction guidance. Graphic Organizer The graphic organizer included below summarizes the seven-step PLC reflective process. The seven steps for PLC reflection are: identifying a practice; setting the stage for successful group reflection; explaining the practice for reflection; examining the practice; acting on what was learned; assessing the outcome; and building community (Roberts & Pruitt, 2008).
