She likes her friends and is passionate about cooking. At just 16 years old, Kyla has set her mind on attending culinary school, once she has graduated from high school. On the weekends she babysits her niece and nephew and saves the money to put towards her schooling. Kyla is fortunate to benefit from close family relations, especially her mother, but the pressures of being an older sibling while transitioning from adolescence to young adulthood can propose its own set of challenges. This is a classic example of the Piaget Formal Operational stage and indicates a quiet healthy development in Kyla™s journey to independence and ultimately womanhood. This time in life can be very different for teenagers. A lot of changes are happening physically and psychosocially.
