There is a level of security that is expected to be followed. All health care organizations should be expected to meet or exceed these measures and are expected to be great and safe. The measures are usually grouped into the following classifications: Patient Safety Measures The first quality measure is to weigh and compare the quality of care provided by physicians and is patient safety measures. With cancer patients in Pennsylvania currently, the percentage of patients who receive substandard care or end up with postoperative infections is high. This would be an indicator of substandard quality of care. The cancer patient mortality rate would be obtained and compared to the national cancer mortality rate. If the Pennsylvania mortality rate is higher than the national average this would also be indicative of poor-quality patient care. Patient Centered Measures This category incorporates the patient™s opinion on the quality of care received. This data will be done by a Press Ganey survey, and the data will be processed and evaluated. If the survey shows a negative or poor score this would indicate that the patients feel they received poor care. Statistical Trends Breast Cancer diagnosis and mortality have increased over time.
